Multiple government entities and NGO's (and others) all “trying” their very best to solve New Zealand's horrendous (multi-billion dollar annually) Family Violence (NZ$7 billion) and Sexual Violence (NZ$6.9 billion) abuse problem |
Family violence and sexual violence are significant problems across New Zealand
Family violence and sexual violence cause health, economic, and social harm to people, families, whānau, and communities. It is estimated that the total economic cost of family violence in New Zealand is up to $7 billion per year with sexual violence estimated to cost $6.9 billion per year. Eliminating family violence and sexual violence will help New Zealanders to live safe, connected, and healthy lives for generations to come.

The Plan
Two completely FREE registered trademarks leveraging off the, kind, professional (forty three written words of) wisdom provided during the astute online exchange between Professor Andrew Geddis - Otago University (Faculty of Law) and "Ross" in 2017 regarding New Zealand individual's being fully aware of their right to be able to simply, legally, and sensibly "record their world" (within New Zealand) should "they" wish (and/or need) to do so.
The Process
Now ... all we (as a team) need to do ... is just let everyone know about these two (completely free) registered trademarks ... and what they actually mean ... thanks to the kindness, wisdom, and professionalism of our Professor Andrew Geddis (and "Ross" too, of course) ... simply simple.
Any Potential Health and Safety Issues?
No Health and Safety issues that we (as a team) are currently aware of but, as always, please do not hesitate to specifically point them out so that (if they actually do exist and we have not considered them as yet) they can be, hopefully, properly assessed and, ultimately, addressed (in a timely, and cost effective, fashion). The proposed TTCL Team "simply simple - knowledge transfer" abuse prevention solution really is just about very quietly (and positively) passing on some very astute knowledge from a senior, respected, professional member of our New Zealand legal fraternity and we have been led to believe that this "little tidbit of astute knowledge" is already, seemingly, common knowledge within our "professional" New Zealand Police "force" if we correctly understood what we were advised during a reasonably recent (within the last twelve months) visit to our local Police Station in Rangiora (which is located not that far from Christchurch city).
The "Shakers and Movers"
Emma Powell (Chief Executive) and all of the Executive Board members will now, hopefully, (very quietly and positively) try to convince our Prime Minister and our Deputy Prime Minister(s) and our Minister for Children and Minister for the Prevention of Family and Sexual Violence and our Commissioner of Police and our Governor-General (and, hopefully, also with our Professor Andrew Geddis in attendance too - who really should be awarded a "special Nobel Prize" for overcoming "the lawyer's [AKA professional's] dilemma" and simply showing everyone within our New Zealand legal fraternity and judiciary [and society] that you will not "turn into a pumpkin" when you just "simply simple" tell everyone the "truth" regarding what every individual currently can [and cannot] do with respect to letting everyone know that "you" now know "you" really can simply, legally, and sensibly "record your world" should "you" wish [and/or need] to do so ) to all make a combined (heartfelt) announcement to the New Zealand general public (advising everyone what our existing New Zealand laws [Crimes Act and Privacy Act] currently allow us all to simply, legally, and sensibly do) via all of our national mainstream (and online) Prime Time media outlets.
Additional Background Info
Professor Andrew Geddis also, very kindly, highlighted that it would be prudent to not behave like former National MP (for Southland) Todd Barclay as you may not be as well connected (fortunate) and therefore could, potentially, be charged by our "professional" New Zealand Police "force" with up to two years of imprisonment under Section 216B subsection (1) of the New Zealand Crimes Act 1961 for making (and, seemingly even worse, subsequently distributing it to your "unwitting poor boss" thus making things very awkward for everyone involved) an illegal recording. Essentially, (it would seem) if you are there in person and you aren't somewhere where "privacy" could be reasonably expected like "a bathroom" or "a changing room" then you are probably "good to go", but always ask your lawyer first, just to be safe, of course.
The really funny thing is that no-one should have to record anything and absolutely nothing should need to change for anyone once everyone is fully aware of what our existing New Zealand laws (Crimes Act and Privacy Act) allow all individuals (not companies/entities) to do.
It really is very important that all of our "Powers That Be" including the very best and brightest (most talented) of our New Zealand legal fraternity and judicial (such as "all" the "jointly and severally liable" Partners of nationally respected law firms like Duncan Cotterill and/or Harman & Co and/or Cuningham Taylor and/or High Court Justice Robert Osborne and/or High Court Justice Jonathan Eaton ... to name just a few off the top of our heads) minds provide clear/simple instructions (just like our Professor Andrew Geddis has already very kindly and professionally done) to every individual in New Zealand about what constitutes you as simply "being an absolute monkey" (AKA "Toddy") as opposed to simply just "trying" to "avoid all unnecessary drama" as cost effectively (and as painlessly) as possible. Andrew
My understanding is that conversations can be recorded without the other party's knowledge as long as the person doing the recording is present. Is that correct?
Andrew Geddis
@Ross,
That's right - it's not an offence to record yourself in conversation with others, even if they don't know you are doing so. Nor is it an offence to record other people without their knowledge if they are not engaged in a "private communication". ...

Amount budgeted from 2018 to solve problem $0.00
Requires zero law changes
